A Wonderful Surprise: MK Schultz Spotlights Memphis on His Substack
Sometimes the best moments happen completely by accident.
Last Thursday evening, around 7 PM EST, I was scrolling through TikTok when I stumbled across a live stream hosted by Horror/Sci-Fi author MK Schultz. To be honest, I've been so busy lately that I hadn't even realized he was promoting my book this way. Finding the live was a complete fluke—and I'm so glad I did.
For those who may not know him, MK Schultz is an award-winning Canadian author known for his science fiction and horror novels. Based near Ottawa, Ontario, his books have earned praise for their originality, suspense, and unforgettable storytelling. He is the author of The Muse, as well as the acclaimed Kassius Kanex series, and is currently working on his sixth novel.
I've been fortunate enough to connect with MK through the writing community. After reading Memphis, he reached out to tell me how much he enjoyed the book, and we've had some wonderful conversations since. As any author knows, hearing that your story has connected with a reader is incredibly meaningful but it's even more special when that reader is a fellow author whose work you admire.

Recently, MK featured me and Memphis in a book spotlight on his Substack, and I wanted to share it with all of you.
One of the things he said about Memphis truly touched me:
"Memphis is one of the most memorable books I have read so far in 2026. My review can be found on Goodreads and Amazon. I still think about this book from time to time. Holly May Cormier is such a good storyteller. This page turner will have you screaming on the edge of your seat and wanting more! Thankfully there is more coming. Trust me when I say, you need to add this author's works to your TBR pile!"
As an author, there are few compliments greater than hearing that a reader is still thinking about your story long after they've finished the final page.
I'm incredibly grateful to MK Schultz for taking the time to read Memphis, share his thoughts, and feature both me and my work with his audience. Support from fellow authors means the world, and this spotlight was such an unexpected and welcome surprise.
If you'd like to read the full feature, you can find it here.
Thank you, MK, for your kind words and continued support. And thank you to all of my readers who continue to champion Memphis and share it with others. Exciting things are still to come!
